Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before downloading, installing, or using the FuelGauge mobile application and website. By accessing or using FuelGauge, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, copying, or utilizing the FuelGauge software ("the Application"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not install or use FuelGauge.
2. Software License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, FuelGauge grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and royalty-free license to download, install, and execute the Application on personal mobile devices solely for your personal or internal business vehicle tracking needs.
You may not distribute, lease, sublicense, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the source code or binary distributions without explicit written consent.
⚠️ 3. Mileage, Maintenance & Safety Disclaimer
FuelGauge provides mileage calculations (MPG, L/100km, km/L), fuel expenditure analytics, and service interval reminders based strictly on the numerical data provided manually by you.
- Informational Estimates: Calculated fuel economy, estimated driving range, and service due dates are mathematical estimates. They do not account for mechanical wear, tire pressure fluctuations, adverse weather, or driving styles.
- Not a Certified Diagnostic Tool: FuelGauge is not an On-Board Diagnostics (OBD-II) tool or certified automotive instrument. It does not interface directly with your vehicle engine control unit (ECU).
- Owner Responsibility: You remain solely responsible for consulting your vehicle owner's manual, adhering to certified manufacturer maintenance guidelines, and regularly verifying physical odometer and fluid levels.
- Safe Driving: Do not interact with FuelGauge while operating a motor vehicle. Always input fill-up logs while safely parked.
4. Local Data Storage & Backup Responsibility
FuelGauge operates with a 100% offline, local-first storage architecture. All vehicle specs, fuel receipts, and maintenance logs reside solely on your physical device.
Because FuelGauge maintains no remote cloud servers or backups, you are solely responsible for exporting and backing up your data. The developer shall not be liable for data loss arising from hardware failure, operating system updates, device reset, accidental app deletion, or lost devices.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
The Application, including its original source code, user interface designs, custom graphics, logos, algorithms, and documentation, is the exclusive intellectual property of FuelGauge and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
6. Acceptable Use Policy
When using FuelGauge, you agree that you will not:
- Use the Application for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
- Attempt to circumvent software protections or extract underlying proprietary algorithms.
- Rebrand, resell, or distribute modified packages of the application under false claims of ownership.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties ("AS IS")
FuelGauge is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or error-free operation.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developers, contributors, or distributors of FuelGauge be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to vehicle mechanical breakdowns, missed maintenance services, inaccurate fuel expense estimates, or data loss.
9. Modifications to Terms & Software
We reserve the right to revise these Terms & Conditions or modify features within the Application at any time. Continued use of FuelGauge following posted revisions constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
10. Governing Law & Contact
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable general software licensing principles. For inquiries, feature requests, or legal notices, please reach out via our GitHub repository or developer contact page.
